FULL NAME: Dani Reese

PERSONALITY: Like a lot of cop shows, Dani Reese embodies one of those attitudes where she is grumpy and hard. For many years she was an undercover cop, that went in with a drug ring. During those times, she developed a serious drug and alcohol problem. Even though she was under cover, she was really strung out and nearly died a couple of times. From that, plus the fact that she had a rather rough childhood, Reese put a wall around her and didn't let anyone inside. She didn't show emotion much, just like her father wanted. She was a second generation cop, and her father was one of the bad guys though she didn't know it.
After she was found to need rehab, and taken out of her undercover narcotics position, she was put back on duty with Charlie Crews, who was fresh back on the force after being in prison for murders he didn't commit. For a good long time, she didn't trust anyone, not even her new partner. However over the years, they have gotten closer. Though Crews is eccentric and often annoying, they somehow make it work. He's a good detective, and so is she. In fact it turned out that he would do pretty much anything for her.
Dani generally warmed up to people and realized that her father was indeed crooked. That was he was part of a bank heist many many years ago. Once she went off the wagon a bit, but that was because they were tracking down a criminal who nearly kidnapped her and forced her to drink. Since then, she went back to AA, which she goes to still.
Just before she was brought to Colligo, she had been kidnapped and tortured by Roman who was trying to get to Crews (as he had been the one to set Crews up for murder). When Charlie decided to trade himself for Dani, she thought she wouldn't ever see him again, and at that moment, he became more than her partner. Not that she would ever really admit to anything like that. But she has a fondness for him.
She's a good detective though, and the two have solved a lot of cases together.
ABILITIES: She's a cop, so she knows all of those cop procedures. And she was under cover, so she's pretty good at that.
WEAKNESSES: Alcoholic, former drug addict, doesn't have a high tolerance for anything, closed off, she has a dark side, violent, disagreeable.
CANON POINT: After the series ended on season 2.
WHY HAS YOUR CHARACTER CAUGHT THE EYE OF THE COLLECTOR?: She's the partner of Charlie Crews, she's a good cop and doesn't take any crap. Generally though, someone has to keep an eye on Crews.
